If you landed on this page it means you’re looking after how to get rid of the write protection that all of the autodesk usb sticks ship with.
This article covers, specifically, the 32GB stick from 2015 (or maybe 2014).
I spent over 3 hours in order to get this solved and I got it worst: after using the formatter SilliconPower.exe tool, my stick got messed up, rendering it useless to the point that even though it was detected upon plugging it in, it always gave me the message ‘drive has no media’ whenever I tried to repair, format, wipe or even create/delete partitions.
Anyway, if this is what you are after, download this. It contains MPALL v3.63.0C-DL17 which was the only version that properly detected this USB Stick (I tried, 5 or 6 different versions till I got to this one). I managed to get a hold of this version while searching through and landed on this page: http://repusb.cubava.cu/?page_id=140&cpage=4
I’m sure you’ll find MPALL versions that suit your usb stick in case yours is a different version than the one I got.
Regarding this stick, this is the most important information you must know:
Chip model / IC Version: PS2251-03
Burner: BN03V104.BIN
Firmware: FW03FF01V10010M.BIN
Download MPALL v3.63.0C-DL17-stevesmind
Within this file you have everything including:
Burner file
Firmware file
MP.ini configured for the Autodesk 32GB usb stick
MPALL 3.63.0C-DL17 out of the box (I decided to include this as while using MPALL 3.29 I noticed the application stopped working so including it just in case)
I hope this is helpful to someone out there. If it is, leave a comment. Would love to know this was valuable to someone.

I am coping with the error of ct0x1042. In my case, only Phison MPALL v3.72.0B detected USB

Steve,
I am getting an error where the program starts to write to the USB but stops. In the log it is telling me that there is an error accessing the USB. Any ideas what might be happening here?

I’m guessing it’s the wrong version you’re using. I really can’t help you on that. I did a lot of trial and error till I finally ended up with a MPALL version that worked for my version.
Good luck mate!

I’m having issues with the MPALL software not finding the PS2251-03 drive. It just doesn’t show up in the list.
I have confirmed the model of the controller with Chip Genius and tried several different USB ports.

Hello, I have an 2015 Autodesk drive with the PS2251-03 version also, but I can’t get MPall to detect the drive.
Did you connect this to USB 2.0 or 3.0 port?

Hello,
I just used your package on my Autodesk BDSP 2015 USB key and everything went fine, no more Write Protection, formated, and now i can use it like a normal usb key. Thanks !
I executed “MPALL_F1_7F00_DL17_v363_0C”, cliked “Update” and it found the key, then “Start” and after a few minutes, it was done !

I followed this guide (russian – Google translate), slightly modified by me
https://www.usbdev.ru/f/index.php?topic=440.0
I succesfully salvaged two Autodesk 2016 32 GB (1512 marked on the USB plug)
and one Autodesk 2015 32 GB (marked 1410)
As far as I know this is the first time 2016 (the last free Autodesk USB sticks) are unlocked.
Downloaded
Phison MPALL v3.71.0A
Phison MPALL v3.72.0B
Copied IDBLK_TIMING.dll from 3.72 to 3.71
Downloaded firmware for 2303
Opened USB pendrive to expose Phison controller
Shorted pin 26-27 with the tip of a swiss knife
Plugged into USB 2 socket while still holding the tip of the knife there
Pendrive enter boot mode (red led stays on, not blink)
You can now put your knife apart.
Run MPALL_F1_9000_v371_0A
Click Update
You should see one of the 16 block with the specs of your USB pendrive
Now settings, basic settings, follow the guide

Hi Steve, thanks for the article. Semi-related question. If I buy one of those usb drives from ebay (Building Design Suite for example), can I install the software and will it just run?
ie. Does the dongle act as a proof-of-purchase dongle, or do you need to type in a serial number and activate? Thank you, Fidel

Hi,
To be frank, I do not remember 100%. I do think the usb stick was only for the installation and then for the licensing there was something else.
Good luck!
